Elisa grew up near Salem, Massachusetts. A longtime lover of all things paranormal, she began her writing career with horror stories--but didn't dream of publication until years later, when she branched out into romance novels.
She wrote her first romance in the summer of 2001. Her first sale came in 2002 to Ellora's Cave. Since then she's written over a dozen books for Ellora's Cave, including the Dark Promises vampire series. In the summer of 2005 another dream of Elisa's was realized when she sold an erotic horror novella to Changeling Press.
Her favorite books to write, and read, are dark paranormals, ghost and vampire tales, which she intersperses with the occasional romantic comedy to keep things interesting. When she isn't writing, she can be found curled up on the couch with a book in her hands.

She’s been fascinated by Jonah since the first time she caught him watching her, and he works for her primary suspect. When did you start writing?
My first memory of writing a story was for a story contest when I was in fifth grade. After that, I wrote on and off until after high school. Once I had my children, writing took a back seat for a while, until they went to school full time. That was the first time I ever thought of writing as anything more than a hobby.
Where do the ideas for your stories come from?
Everywhere. It could be a TV show or a song that made an idea click, or something I saw while I was running errands. Even a dream will sometimes inspire an idea, but the truth is, most of the time I don't even realize where they come from.
What's your favorite genre to write in?
Paranormal, definitely. Though I enjoy writing a contemporary every once in a while to lighten things up.What do you like to read?
A little of everything. Suspense and thrillers are a couple of my favorites, but for the most part I just enjoy a good story, no matter what it's classified as.
